What is Party Trick Press? 

Party Trick Press is a digital publishing press that is revolutionizing the space for eLiterature. Our site hosts a curated collection of inclusive literary works brought to you by current and up-and-coming authors who are compensated fairly, and celebrated equally. As a women-owned, Canadian small business, we work to bring higher standards of diversity, accessibility and inclusion to the publishing process.

Where are you located?

Although we do not have a brick-and-mortar location, we do have two home offices: one in Edmonton, AB, and the other in Toronto, ON.

I’m a reader. Why should I purchase my eLiterature from Party Trick Press?

You can feel good about purchasing your eLiterature from Party Trick Press for a few key reasons. One, we are digitally focused, which means that we are committed to finding innovative ways of storytelling while limiting our impact on Mother Earth. Two, we respect you as the consumer and are finding new ways of engaging in a capitalist system (see: Choose What You Pay). And three, we showcase unique and up-and-coming voices in the literary scene through our carefully curated collections.

Why Choose What You Pay?

We decided to offer Choose What You Pay in an effort to both honour our authors’ hard work, and increase financial accessibility. If folks want to give more money to something that they care about - great! But if that’s not where they’re at financially, that’s okay, too. We just don’t think price should stand between readers and eLiterature.

Do you sell paper copies of your eLiterature?

Short answer, no. Long answer, it depends.

Party Trick is a press that is digitally-focused. This means that we prioritize eLiterature over print, and focus on building out our online value. eLiterature is our priority for a few key reasons, namely to make literature as accessible as possible, both from a pricing and practical standpoint. We also want to be good to our earth by limiting the production of paper products. That being said, in rare cases, we will offer limited and/or special edition print projects.
